Story
of the Gallery
In
one of the most suggestive, exclusive and artistic area of Venice, few steps
from the baroque church of Santa Maria della Salute, the Peggy Guggenheim
Collection and the Center of Contemporary Art “Punta della Dogana”, is located
San Gregorio Art Gallery, on Calle San Gregorio 164, 165, from which it takes
the name.
The
Gallery was opened in 1996 and immediately distinguished itself for the
promotion of high quality artists in the field of "informal"
contemporary art. At first, the exhibitions showed the passion for the
'abstract' expression with artists such as Santomaso, Vedova, the
"Venetian Spacial Movement" with Gaspari, Gasparini, Finzi, Bacci e
Morandis.
Along
with the Fine Art Collection, the Gallery developed an Art For Interiors &
Projects . In this sector, the artists exhibit a figuration embracing the taste of the 'general
public'. Even the sculptural profile is carried out by the San GregorioArt
Gallery with passion and interest. Many art works made by San Gregorio Art
Gallery’s artists are in various public areas such as ships, hotels, banks and
residentials. Maria Giovanna Dal Tin is the owner of the
gallery.
